Far Western University (FWU) was established in 2010 AD through an Act of Parliament as a government-funded national university. The central office of the university is located in Bheemdatta Municipality of Kanchanpur district. The strategic location of the University Central Campus and its constituent campuses in the Sudur Paschim Province is conducive to improving the access of local people to higher education, while simultaneously creating dynamism in the overall development of the region and the country. Since its inception, the university has been fulfilling its responsibility of making higher education accessible to the people of this region through its various constituent campuses in the nine districts of Sudurpaschim Province. Adopting the principle that "everyone has the right to education, and higher education shall be equally accessible to all," Far Western University has been delivering diverse educational programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels through nine faculties, including Humanities and Social Sciences, Education, Management, Science and Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, Law, Natural Resource Management, and Health Science. With the paradigm shift in the global education system, Far Western University also seeks to facilitate the integration of several academic innovations, including introducing dynamic new curricula, enhancing academic programs, integrating cutting-edge technology, and launching advanced M. Phil. and Ph.D. degrees. There are currently more than 20000 students, 00 teaching faculties and 200 support staff at the Far Western University.
